The year I get a Facebook account coincides with the year of my 25-yr. high school reunion, so here's a "what have you been up to?" summary.
1987- graduate from Cornell with a B.A. in Government
1987 - hitchhike (and odd-job) around N. America
1988- Move to Manhattan, bounce around various temp jobs before landing at Ruder Finn public relations agency. Meet future wife Pat Mulvey. Highlights from these years include "discovering" Blues Traveler and Chris Barron (later Spin Doctors), Lounge Lizards and Jazz Passengers, Arto Lindsay/Ambitous Lovers and Caetano Veloso, Papa Wemba and the Kanda Bongo Man, David Wojnarowicz and Haitian painting.
1991 - Finally act on long-brewing interest in neuroscience by quitting P.R. job and taking a job in the laboratory of Dr. Josh Wallman at City College. Move to Park Slope, Brooklyn.
1992 - Start graduate school at MIT's Dept of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, training with Dr. Suzanne Corkin.
1993 - Wedding! Pat & I set up house in Inman Square, Somerville, MA.
1994/5 - Pat parlays her job at Concord Academy into a house-parent gig for us at this private high school.
1997 - Awarded PhD in neuroscience, move to Philadelphia to do a postdoctoral fellowship with Mark D'Esposito at the Univ. of Pennsylvania. Pat soon embarks on her own "postdoc," enrolling in culinary school.
2000 - Move to Madison, WI, where I start as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Psychology; Pat launches What's for Dinner Personal Chef Service.
2001 - Birth of James Donald Postle (see photos & info at personal page of http://psych.wisc.edu/postlab
2003 - Birth of Quinnie Cathleen Postle
2007 - Overcome forces of evil to be granted tenure at UW.
